Accidental shooting death in Silver Creek

While a bench may have been the weapon in the death of John Montes in La Democracia, in Stann Creek’s Silver Creek village it was gun play that resulted in the killing of a fourteen year old boy. According to police reports, on Friday night, the teenager, identified as Juan Carlos Orellano, was out hunting with thirty one year old Modesto Matamorros. It is alleged that around eleven thirty Matamorros accidentally shot Orellano. Its not known whether Orellano was mistaken for wild game or the gun went off by mistake as the men hunted together. Police have detained Matamorros pending the outcome of their investigation.
