A ship carrying nuclear waste is heading our way

It was scheduled to pass through the Caribbean a few years ago but the ship transporting nuclear waste from Europe to Japan was rerouted at the last minute. now, according to the environmental organization Greenpeace, they’re at it again. Greenpeace claims to have a document stating that on January 23rd a French company intends to ship 60 containers of nuclear waste to Japan through the Caribbean and Panama Canal aboard the British vessel “Pacific Swan.” Greenpeace alleges that in the event of the ship sinking or burning a massive environmental disaster would result. The group has called upon Caribbean nations to protest the shipment and has asked the United States government to bar the ship from transiting the canal.
