The O.A.S. assists in export promotion

The Organization of American States has made a grant of 60 thousand Belize dollars to help promote Belize’s exports. O.A.S. Director in Belize Kenrick Texel presented the cheque to Mario Castellanos, head of Government’s Trade and Investment Promotion Service. The funds will be used to acquire trade publications to keep exporters abreast of market developments, as well as facilitate Belize’s representation at regional expositions. Among the most recent of such missions was the attendance by three Belizeans at the Caribbean Craft Marketplace held last month in Barbados. Later this month a delegation will travel to South America to explore the possibility of exporting to markets in Colombia and Venezuela.
