Police Charge Two More with Murder of Gabrel Tillett; One Arraigned
Police have arrested three men in connection with the murder of eighteen-year-old Gabrel Tillett. Tillett’s body was retrieved from the Lord’s Ridge Cemetery on Tuesday morning, after his family said he went missing on Monday night. The three charged are twenty-two-year-old Robert Lamb, twenty-six-year-old Kevin Lanza, and twenty-eight-year-old Samuel Trapp.
Police believe these are the men who are responsible for Tillett’s death. According to police, their surveillance camera captured the murder of Gabrel Tillett and that it showed three men whose identity they know.
Earlier today, Samuel Trapp was charged and arraigned for the murder. Trapp was unrepresented in court. The allegations are that he along with two others murdered Gabrel Tillett on July fourth. He was remanded to the Belize Central Prison until September seventh. Denise Stewart, the mother of the deceased, Gabrel Tillett, expressed her dismay over the fact that just a few days after Gabrel was found murdered, police have charged another of her sons with being the member of a gang. Stewart is frustrated with a system she accuses of compounding her problem at a time when she is grieving.

“They came there yesterday and they, they, they took my son. And they say hold the bus once here. I tell them my son gonna wash. What happened again? They say they don’t know that. They just get, they just follow by procedures. So I said whether I carry my son for my son or do nobody, nothing. No. Today I hear my son call me and tell me hold the charge gang affiliation. Miss hold I my son for gang affiliation. Much time the officers call your son on the home. Anytime anything happen in this neighborhood. And they call for my son. They never ever charge my son for no gang affiliation. No. All of a sudden they wanna charge my son as a gang member. No, we try bury my baby. I know. That’s all the trouble my baby. I have to have extra money to take my other son out of a burial.”
