“Prime Minister Must Account for What Took Place” – Dean Barrow
Former Prime Minister Dean Barrow also chimed in briefly on the significance of a Special Select Committee to investigate the dubious agreement between Portico and the Government of Belize. He says that the members of civil society in the upper house are owed a debt of gratitude for their endeavor.
Dean Barrow, Former Prime Minister
“This is a really, really serious issue and I think that the social partners, in calling for the special select committee inquiry, are doing the right thing. I believe that the society owes them a debt of gratitude for their standing up and saying no. There must be an inquiry, we must know why things happened the way they did [and], in effect, the prime minister must account for what took place. I think that is very much as it should be.”
