Coming Soon: Paving of Antelope Street from Boulevard to G.P Highway

Bernard Wagner

One of the alternate arteries in Belize City is Antelope Street, and several others, will be resurfaced before the end of this year, according to Mayor Wagner. The mayor told us today that currently, the Belize City Council is finishing up a few of the shorter streets across the city before it reaches Antelope Street, which will see a whole overhaul from its junction with Central American Boulevard to where it meets the George Price Highway.

Bernard Wagner, Mayor, Belize City

“Antelope Street is on my list, and I will be reaching there very shortly, the full length of Antelope Street, from the Boulevard out to the highway back, will be completely drained, rehabilitated, culverts installed. It will be a state-of-the-art, resurfaced completely, before the end of this year. When the city is tight around that five o’clock rush by the roundabout, people could access out to the highway from the Boulevard. Right now I have so many streets being rehabilitated all across the city. It’s just when my team is finished with one, they go to the next. We did Sarstoon Street, we did Logwood Street, we did Teacher’s Street. We are at St. John Street right now. We are moving into Pickstock next week. We finished Croton Lane, we’ll be moving into Marigold and Fern. We have complex Boulevard right in front of the Charles Bartlett Building to the river to be fully cemented. We’ll cement from the boulevard to the end of Penn Road.”
