Study Being Done on Port Authority’s Economic Activities

Experts from the TYPSA Group, as well as the Maritime and Logistics Consulting Group from Panama are in Belize to conduct a study of the economics of the country’s port system. During this time, the consultants will collect data and develop a model that will be used to measure the impact of the port on Belize’s economy. News Five spoke with Eduardo Lugo to find out more.

“The idea is to, to have a better understanding why are poor important for Belize and what do they do for the Belizean economy, how does poor related activities impact on the country, and so it’s better for understanding, not only for the Belize Port Authority, but for the country to measure the impact of the port activity in the area.”
