Fort George Area Rep: Gilroy Usher Can Withstand Recall Campaign
As has been reported in the news, former Port Loyola Area Representative, Anthony “Boots” Martinez is leading a campaign for the recall of the current Area Rep, Minister of State, Gilroy Usher. And videos that were circulated this week showed Martinez embroiled in a heated dispute with one of Usher’s employees over a house that Martinez had gotten built when he was minister and whose occupant has died. In a part of that video, when tempers flew and the employee slammed a crowbar on a window that Martinez was attempting to take out of the man’s truck back, Martinez then ran off blurting out “It’s over now.” And when the media caught up with Fort George Area Representative, Henry Charles Usher on Thursday, we asked him for his thoughts on the recall campaign that Martinez is spearheading against Gilroy Usher. So when the Fort George representative retorted that he thought that matter was over now, we found it funny. Here’s how that went.

“Isn’t that recall position, um, petition over now? I thought it was over now. That’s what Boots said, it’s over now. (Laughter) I’m not even looking at that. I am absolutely sure that, um, the Honorable Gilroy Usher would be able to withstand some type of, whatever measure, um, that fellow brings.”
