Abraham family busted with eighteen pounds of cannabis
In an early morning search on the Southside of Belize City, police netted eighteen pounds of marijuana stashed away in three bags in a couple’s yard on Faber’s Road. Shortly after six a.m., police went to the residence of forty-one year old George Abraham, a former cyclist who now works as a collector at Dooney’s Store in Belize City. Abraham’s wife, thirty-seven year old Victoria, a Collection Manager at Triple A Loan, and their sixteen year old son were at home at the time of the bust. Attorney Hubert Elrington represented the Abraham family on arraignment. The Abrahams were fined with three counts of Drug Trafficking. The first count was for having six thousand nine hundred and eighty two grams of cannabis; the second count for having four hundred and twenty grams of cannabis and the third count for three hundred and ninety six grams of cannabis. When the three parcels were weighed in their presence, it amounted to seven thousand seven hundred and ninety eight grams of cannabis or eighteen pounds of weed. The court prosecutor, Sergeant Araceli Petillo did not object to bail, which was met by George, his wife and their son.
