Gun and ammo stolen from George Betson’s home
George Betson, who lost his home at mile two on the Northern Highway in July of 2008 during a very public land dispute, has come across another piece of bad luck. The sixty-six year old’s current home on Partridge Street was burglarized on Monday sometime between one and six-forty p.m. The thief or thieves stole Betson’s Sony brand stereo valued at one thousand dollars; a Moss Berry brand twelve-gauge pump action shotgun valued at two thousand one hundred and ninety-five dollars; ten twelve-gauge cartridges; and seventy rounds of point thirty-eight ammunition. Police are investigating.
