Well-known Worship Leader in Evangelical Church is Accused of Sexual Abuse

A well-known worship leader from an evangelical church in the Cayo District is tonight facing numerous allegations of sexual abuse. At least four young women have made public statements against this individual on their social media pages. Rebecca Stirm, a familiar fashion designer, is among those coming out against the alleged perpetrator. She shared her personal experience via Instagram. She wrote “earlier this year I finally shared with my family for the first time about a church leader in our circle having taken advantage of me as an eleven-year-old. Mind you, he was twenty at the time and I was a child.” Stirm went on to say that since speaking with those in her circle about what happened, several other victims of that same person have come to light. One of those alleged victims is Kelsie Parham. She also took to social media to today to share her experience. Parham wrote, “For those of you who know the story, and believe my story from the moment I told you of my interactions with a certain gospel artist/influence, thank you for hearing me, believing me from the jump and standing by me. I have suffered the pain of this for years, listening to lies upon lies, covering up the nasty truth that is finally exposed.” Stirm further explained that she had no intentions of going public but she came to the realization that remaining silent “aids in the ability to create more vulnerable situations.” At least one person has indicated that she intends to file an official report with the police. We reached out to one prominent attorney on this matter who informed us that there is no statute of limitation on sexual offenses. News Five also made several attempts to reach out to the accused for a comment, but we haven’t received a response. We will continue to follow the story.
