A Successful Back-to-School Super Sale in Belize City

Over the weekend, on Saturday, the Belize City Council successfully concluded its downtown super sale. Over one hundred and fifty different businesses set up booths in the downtown area and had their products for sale. Residents were able to take advantage of the great deals just in time for the new school year. Public Relations Manager at the Belize City Council Erin Garnett told News Five about the Back-to-School Super Sale.

“The super sale has seen consistent growth, but we’ve always noticed that the back-to-school super sale in particular has been the most popular and we are talking in terms of vendor participation and in consumer attendance. And so, this one was definitely no different. And I think that is because the back-to-school super sale is really one based on necessity. We have themes for all our super sales which is great and well-attended, but for back-to-school, parents come with a list. They have particular things that they need and we try to ensure that we have participation from vendors who can provide those things. And so, this weekend, those parents were waiting and planning and they were out from eight a.m. Angelus was packed, A&R was packed – you really had to wait to get under those booths. The super sale started off with about only twenty businesses so this is a huge step for us. This is about our fifteenth super sale – and that’s because we missed 2020 and 2021 – and so it is really something that it’s just growth and we can’t wait to see it grow even more. This really originated in 2018 when most weekends all of our locals were across the border, enhancing other economies. And so, we really wanted to bring something to instil in Belize City and to really bring some energy and to bring people and there were people there were families out there this Saturday t the super sale.”
