Surveyor is Charged for 15 Counts of Gaining Property by Deception

Fifty-eight-year-old Dorrington Williams Junior, a resident of Saint Matthew’s Village, has been charged with fifteen counts of obtaining property by deception after being accused of swindling over thirty thousand dollars from three individuals.  Williams, a surveyor by profession, appeared unrepresented this morning in the lower court where he was read the list of charges.  It is alleged that between February and August of this year, Williams defrauded three Belizean residents on separate occasions, including twenty-nine thousand, one hundred dollars that was allegedly stolen from Reynaldo Orellano.  There was no objection to bail being offered to Williams, however, the conditions of his bail also meant that he had to surrender his travel documents.  With that, bail was granted in the sum of four thousand dollars, plus two sureties of two thousand dollars.  Williams returns to court on October fourth, 2023.
