Busta Rhymes joins Shyne in Belize
Shyne turned thirty over the weekend and there was much buzz that at least one well known musician would fly from the U.S. to celebrate the occasion with the Belizean born rapper who spent much of his life in New York. Well, it has been confirmed that Trevor Tahiem Smith, Jr., who hip hop fans know better as Busta Rhymes spent the weekend in San Pedro. He signed some autographs before heading to a resort at the north end of the island. Busta, like Shyne, is an East Coast rapper and started early in the game. Busta landed a six-figure record deal by the age of seventeen. His influences also come from the Caribbean. Busta was born in Flatbush New York to Jamaican parents. The Grammy nominated rapper, like Shyne has found an affinity for religion. Shyne embraces Judaism and during his career, Busta converted to Islam. He is currently working on his ninth album, The Chemo, which is expected to come out in 2010. No word yet if Shyne will have a guest appearance on any of the album tracks.
