Cabinet Declare Full Confidence in PM Briceño

A declaration was made via a cabinet press release where the People’s United Party’s Parliamentary Caucus and the Cabinet declared their unwavering and complete confidence in PM Briceño and the P.U.P. Government. The release goes on to say that the PM has “Proven his commitment to the well-being and progress of all Belizeans”. It goes on to say that the Briceño administration has ceaselessly championed progress and ensured that no section of society is left behind. The release ends by saying, “In recognition of the progress made, as well as the rescue and recovery of our nation in two and a half years, we express our unwavering confidence in our Prime Minister and his leadership”. Late this evening, the media caught up with Education Minister Francis Fonseca who was asked about the declaration of full confidence in Prime Minister John Briceño.

“I said it from the very beginning, there is no question about the absolute confidence that the cabinet and the parliamentary caucus has in the prime minister and the leader of our party. So we had a caucus yesterday because we are preparing for a house meeting on Friday. So we had a parliamentary caucus and coming out of that, we issued a declaration of confidence just to say loudly and clearly to the nation that we stand firmly behind our prime minister, behind our leader and we have absolute confidence in his leadership and the leadership of our government.”

Interestingly, the People’s United Party also issued a release earlier today where as many as six groups within the political organization, including the national executive have declared full confidence in the leadership of Prime Minister John Briceño.
