FIFA Central American Officials Visit for Training
Officials of the Central American FIFA body are in Belize to consult with various member associations and over the past five days, they have been discussing the most updated criteria and considerations related to the roles and responsibilities of football referees. Technical Instructor for FIFA in Central America, Leonel Leal explains that the consultations cover a lot, and thereafter, female referee, Christie Albeno says that since she has received the training, she has noticed improvements in the way she referees football matches.

“We covered technical, as example, penalty incidents, offside, challenges, (inaudible) which is a very controversial topic always, also – several topics during five days that we work in the classroom every afternoon and we practice every morning on the field of play. We are very happy that this group – most of them are young referees with a lot of potential so we expect that some of them very soon, in a short period of time, will be part of the UNCAF tournament, CONCACAF, and why not – some of them can be part of the FIFA tournaments in a short period of time. “
