Police Charged For Hitting Police Mobile While Allegedly Drunk Driving

Charles Garcia

Tonight, a police officer accused of drunk driving is out on bail. Thirty-nine-year-old Charles Garcia was allegedly driving a white Dodge Ram pickup truck under the influence when he collided into a police mobile that was parked in front of his home. Thirty-two-year-old PC Keron Garnett reported that on Sunday night, he responded to a request for support on Armadillo Street, in relation to a domestic dispute. PC Garnett noted that he arrived at the location and parked his White Ford Ranger Police mobile on the side of the street. According to PC Garnett, while providing support, a dark skin male person got into a white Dodge Ram pick-up truck that was also parked on the side of Armadillo Street and sped off. In doing so, the Dodge Ram Pickup collided into the rear right light of the police vehicle causing damages to the mobile. PC Garnett says the driver then came out and identified himself as PC Charles Garcia.  According to PC Garnett, while speaking with Garcia, he smelled the strong aroma of alcohol coming from his breath. He told PC Garcia that he suspects him to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs and requested from him a urine sample which he refused to provide. This morning, Garcia appeared unrepresented before a Traffic Magistrate where he was read two offenses, one count of drove motor vehicle without due care, and attention and one count of failure to provide specimen.  In court, PC Garcia pleaded not guilty to both charges and was offered bail in the sum of six hundred dollars and one surety of the same amount.
