We also asked Minister Ferguson whether he still envisions a sports academy for Belize. He told us that while financial constraints at the ministry have prevented them from acting on that vision, he still has the political term to continue proving himself as the Minister of Sports.

“I said because of limitations I am not going to come and do this tomorrow because just to host all those games over the amount of period it cost the government almost six hundred and seven hundred thousand. I had to go back to Cabinet and plea to them to release funds to assist and so that part is over. I can trust you I have two and half years to prove myself as the minister of sports and you will see a different transformation over the two and a half years.”
