Prison officer may be locked up for drug trafficking
People say “Step into another person’s shoe, look at things from another point of view and the world as you know it will never be the same again.” Well, that’s one proverb a prison guard wishes he didn’t know and that’s because twenty-eight year old Yourmoul Mcnab was caught with drugs at the Kolbe Facility. The bust occurred around eight a.m. Monday February second when Mcnab, a resident of San Ignacio Town, arrived at the Belize Central Prison in Hattieville for work. After acting suspiciously, Mcnab was escorted to the Hattieville Police station where he was searched and cops found a black plastic bag inside his pocket. The bag contained a leafy substance that was suspected to be cannabis. When he appeared in court today, Mcnab pleaded not guilty to the charge of Drug Trafficking. Magistrate Dorothy Flowers offered him bail of three thousand five hundred dollars but so far, Mcnab has not found the cash. If he is unable to meet bail, he will taken back to his job, the prison, until March nineteenth, but instead of guarding prisoners, he will be getting a different view from behind bars.
