An MOU to Strengthen Supervision of Financial Services Sector

A Memorandum of Understanding has been signed by the Financial Services Commission and the Belize Police Department.  The M.O.U. strengthens the shared commitment to improve the administration, supervision, prosecution, and enforcement of laws that relate to the financial services sector.  The partnership seeks to make easy the exchange of information between the police department and the supervisory authorities combat money laundering, as well as terrorist financing and illicit activities.  Taken together, these offenses threaten the integrity of the domestic and international financial services sector.
