Police Retrieve Missing B.D.F. Rifle in Belize City

Belize City police have recovered an M4 rifle that was reported missing from Camp Belizario in Cayo District last week.  The high-powered weapon was retrieved from an abandoned lot in the vicinity of Jane Usher Boulevard on August twenty-third.  When the Belize Defense Force became aware of the situation a week ago, an investigation was conducted, however, the team assigned to the probe was unable to determine exactly when the rifle went missing.  When officers responded to the Port Loyola area on Wednesday, they found a black M4 carbine.  It was sealed, labeled and deposited as found property.  Commissioner of Police Chester Williams has since confirmed that it is the same rifle that disappeared from the military installation.
