Conch Shell Bay Resident Charged for Robbing Woman
Thirty-six-year-old Shane Jones has been charged with robbery after he attacked a call center agent and her young child and stealing a purse containing money, bank cards, and several other personal documents. The incident happened on August eighteenth while Shayan Ramirez, a resident of Burrell Boom Village, was walking along East Collet Canal towards Novelo’s Bus Terminal. During the attack, Jones allegedly struggled with Ramirez for the purse, causing her baby to fall hitting her head on the pavement. Fearing for her life, Ramirez said that she could not fight back and her attacker then jumped on a bicycle and rode towards Conch Shell Bay. Jones, who was recently released from prison, appeared unrepresented before a Senior Magistrate today where he pleaded not guilty and was offered bail of three thousand dollars, plus one surety of the same amount. He is to return to court on October twenty-fifth, 2023.
