Frik de Meyere is Brought in for Questioning Following Borja Murder

Belgian national Frik de Meyere was taken into police custody earlier today for questioning in connection with the murder of businessman Ricardo Borja.  As we’ve reported, Borja was shot and killed as he sat inside his pickup truck outside of an apartment near Coney Drive on August nineteenth.  In the wake of the murder, Belize City police have been conducting an investigation and were looking for several persons of interest.  Frik de Meyere, originally from Brussels, Belgium, migrated to Belize in 2011 and worked as a manager and sales representative in the real estate sector.  He was also said to be the business partner of Ricardo Borja.  Prior to his demise, Borja recorded a damning testimony detailing real estate scams that were allegedly being conducted by a number of persons in that field of business.  A police investigation into that matter continues.
