Police Officer Charged for Sexually Assaulting Female Colleague
Thirty-eight-year-old Police Constable Mauricio Cobb pleaded not guilty to sexually assaulting his colleague at the Ladyville Police Station on Monday evening. According to the female officer who filed a complaint against Cobb, they were on a police issued motorcycle when they went to drop off food for a fellow officer. She stated that she smelled alcohol on Cobb’s breath. They stopped at a residence for about forty-five minutes and that’s when she noticed that PC Cobb was slurring and staggering while walking towards the motorcycle. She reportedly told Cobb that she was able to ride the motorcycle and attempted to do so and that’s when he allegedly pushed his hand inside her pants. Earlier today, Cobb was arraigned in the lower court on a single count of sexual assault, before being placed on interdiction. He pleaded not guilty and was offered bail in the sum of one thousand dollars, plus one surety of the same amount which he was able to meet. He is set to return to court on November sixth, 2023.
