Chief Engineer says Luckily No Damage to Overpass

Evondale Moody

Chief Engineer Evondale Moody says that more than likely the cost of the repairs will come from the MIDH’s budget. Moody says that even though the bust of the national hero was desecrated, it is a blessing in disguise of sorts, because had the pillar to the overpass been damaged, the structure would have been unsafe and in need of serious repairs.

Evondale Moody, Chief Engineer, MIDH

“It seemed as though it wasn’t bolted down to the foundation because it was easily toppled over because of the vehicle that did the damage. But base on that, at least I could say that one good thing that came out of that is that the vehicle did not damage the pier structure for the overpass because that would have been even worse. If that was damage then more than likely we would have some kind of structural failure to the overpass which would cost us as the ministry more to do that repair. So it’s kinda like a blessing in disguise. But we know that we still need to carry out the repairs for the bust, just out of respect that we have for our national hero.”
