Earl Baptist Found Guilty of Assaulting Police Constable
A resident of Police Street who is presently on remand for a murder committed in 2022, has been found guilty of aggravated assault with a firearm upon a police officer. Earl Baptist was convicted of the offense upon Police Constable Darrel Myers. When he appeared without counsel in the Magistrate’s Court earlier today, Baptist chose to remain silent and did not respond to the allegation that he pointed a firearm at PC Myers following a shooting incident on July twenty-ninth, 2021. Since Baptist is a first-time offender for the crime of aggravated assault, he was fined a thousand dollars or, in default, one year in prison. Baptist, however, is presently on pretrial detention for the murder of Leslie Gillett which occurred in Burrell Boom Village on January, twenty-first, 2022.
