Mayor Wagner Discusses Endorsement of His Candidacy

On Tuesday when we caught up with Mayor Wagner, he was asked about the People’s United Party convention to endorse his candidacy.  As we’ve reported, support is being given to the two-term mayor to run again as the municipal leader in Belize City.  According to Mayor Wagner, he does not know what is taking place behind the scenes in his party with respect of a political convention.

“I really, I’m telling you and I am really honest and sincere about it, I have no knowledge of what is occurring in respect to convention or no convention.  I am telling you all the truth.”

Reporter

“Because it was published in the newspaper in the Belize Times.”

Bernard Wagner

“Yeah, if that is the direction then you all know my response already.”

Reporter

“But do you feel strange that they are not communicating with you?”

Bernard Wagner

“Of course, you would want more communication occurring, it‘s important that we keep the communication lines open because when there is no communication then disruption occurs.”
