Belize’s Foreign Minister Condemns Attack on Cuban Embassy in DC
The Cuban embassy was attacked on Sunday night in Washington, DC by someone who threw two Molotov cocktails at the building. This is according to Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla, who added that no one was hurt during the incident. The attack took place several hours after Cuba’s leader Miguel Diaz-Canel returned to the island after attending events at the United Nations in New York last week. On Monday, White House national security advisor Jake Sullivan condemned the attacks. Also echoing those sentiments is Belize’s foreign minister Eamon Courtenay who took to X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter, to share his position on the incident. Courtenay says, “the attack on the Cuban embassy in Washington DC is illegal. Belize condemns it. The perpetrators must be held to account”.
