Belize City man in critical condition after hit and run…

It was not mentioned in the police blotter, but on Saturday night there was a hit and run accident near the junction of Western Avenue and Mahogany Street that sent a sixty-one year old man to the intensive care unit of the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital. Stanley Usher was heading home when he was knocked down. Police transported Usher to the hospital but no one has come forth to claim responsibility for the accident. Usher is in critical condition and his family is desperately in need of help. An emotional daughter, Karen Usher, says her father needs to undergo several tests and the family is strapped for cash.

“Dehn hit ah and dehn left ah down deh. According to people, dehn call fi police and dehn come and pick ah up and bring ah to di hospital. So we di call fi whosoever hit ah please come give ah some assistance because fi we pa di do bad and dehn ker ah dah ICU. And according to di doctor, di swelling eena di brain di give ah di seizure—to every five minute ih go into seizure. So right now we no know weh wah happen with he. And we di call di person to come assist ah or come and see weh di happen.”
