World Bank provides funding for H1N1 to Ministry of Health

Cabinet issued a short release of its sitting today. Noteworthy is that West Landivar will soon be declared a residential zone and that a grant of over a million Belize dollars is being given to the Ministry of Health by the World Bank to help address H1N1 related issues, specifically in training workers at ports of entry locations and improving surveillance. Meanwhile, in agriculture, a new project for seed production in rural communities was signed on November nineteenth in Rome. The four-year project will include seven components and Belize’s will receive one point two million Belize dollars for its implementation locally. Funds will be provided by the Government of Spain. Cabinet will not meet again until December eighth and the next sitting of the House will be on Friday, December eleventh.
