Hayward Trust says millions will be available for project funding

As we told you on Monday’s newscast, the website of the Hayward Charitable Belize Trust, is about to come online. In fact, its launch is on Wednesday when you can log on to www.thehaywardcharitablebelizetrust.com. Valuable information will be available on the nature of the trust and on millions of dollars to become available in grants for charities and projects that fit the criteria set out. The trust has an interest in supporting long term projects that involve young persons, social programs, as well as cultural preservation. Funding of up of two hundred and fifty thousand dollars will be available per project with yearly distribution of twenty million dollars. The Hayward Charitable Belize Trust owned the majority shares in Telemedia before its nationalization in August. According to a release, given the strong historical interest in the purchase of Telemedia by a number of large international telecommunications operators, and the Government’s statements that it wishes to conclude the sale at the earliest opportunity, the Trust is very hopeful of a conclusion to this matter as early as January 2010.
