Teenager Burglarizes Mother’s Home
Earlier today, an eighteen-year-old was facing seven years for burglary, until his mother appeared in court to drop the charge. Brian Hilton is accused of breaking into his mother’s home on Tuesday afternoon with the intent to harm her. Charges were brought against him and he was taken before the lower court where he was read a single charge of burglary. But his mother, Pamela Moreira, who says this is the first time she has seen her son in such a manner, has forgiven him. She took the stand and informed the court that she wanted no further court action against him. In light of the mother’s request, no further evidence against Hilton could be offered and the charge of burglary was dismissed. But, the prosecutor asked for Hilton to be bound over so as to avoid any reoccurrence of the behavior. The Chief Magistrate agreed and bound him over to keep the peace for a six months period. If he fails to do so, he could face a fine of three hundred dollars or imprisonment.
