Mother of two murdered in jealous rage

And we go north where a mother of two was murdered in Corozal Town. This past Saturday around six-thirty in the morning, police found the partially nude and lifeless body of a woman floating in the waters near the entrance of the town. The body was retrieved from the sea and taken to the Corozal Hospital. And according to Superintendent Miguel Guzman, the murder of the woman was triggered by jealousy.

“Corozal Police acting on information visited the entrance into Corozal Town behind the area that was known as Capri where upon arrival they saw the body of a female person partially nude inside the waters floating face up face up. On immediate inspection of the body, injuries were noticed on the face and scratches were on the neck. The body was retrieved and identified as one Annette Palacio twenty-nine years, Belizean employee of Belize Fruit Packers Company Limited and resident of Venezuela site, Corozal Town. After the body was retrieved it was transported to the Corozal Town Hospital where medical officer pronounced the body dead on arrival. The body now lies at the Corozal Town Hospital Morgue awaiting a post mortem examination. Also during the investigation one Victor Hendy, twenty-two years, labourer of Ladyville Village was detained and he has been the person suspected of the crime. He will be arraigned before the court today. I know that she was out partying and it is possible that she may have had a confrontation but not to the extent of reaching to the point where she was killed. If there was any confrontation whatsoever, which we do not have, I don’t think that was the cause of the outcome of this incident.”

“Not from our investigation, no. It mostly appears from the investigation that it was a crime of jealousy, well not a crime of jealousy but the crime is as a result of jealousy.”

“Is it possible that Mr. Hendy is maybe a loved one or something of that sort?”

Supt. Miguel Guzman
“In the investigation yes, that is what is revealed. They had an on and off ongoing relationship and that is why there is sufficient reason to believe that this incident originated from some sort of jealousy.”

Hendy was today charged with Murder and then transported to the Hattieville prison.
