Domestic dispute leads to attempted murder charge
After almost a week of investigation, police today charged thirty-five year old Anthony Ferguson with attempted murder. Reports indicated that Ferguson stabbed his common-law wife, Pamela Cadle, in front of her children last weekend following a domestic dispute. According to Cadle, shortly after eleven last Saturday night, she was at home when she and Ferguson got into an altercation. He then allegedly picked up an ice pick and stabbed her in the back. Ferguson, who claims he is a data attendant at the National Transport Department, appeared before Magistrate Sharon Frazer where he was slapped with one count of Attempted Murder and Use of Deadly Means of Harm. No plea was taken from Ferguson due to the nature of the offenses and a preliminary inquiry will be held to ascertain whether the case will be committed to the Supreme Court for trial. Ferguson was remanded to the Hattieville Prison until January fourth, 2010.
