Venus Photo Lab targeted in armed robbery

Story PictureThe “no entry sign” at the corner of Bishop Street and East Collet Canal did not stop robbers from forcibly entering Venus Photo Lab late this afternoon. The owners are shutting down the stores around the city as they go out of business with the store located on North Front Street being closed since Monday. But the Bishop Street’s outlet was still open today, that is at least until three-thirty this afternoon when two armed men entered and robbed the establishment of several items including a laptop, a fifteen thousand dollars lens and a digital camera valued at fifteen hundred dollars. The bandits then attempted to escape on bicycles. But minutes later police detained one of the two culprits—a fifteen year old minor—on Plues Street in possession of the items. However, no gun was found on him. But what of the second culprit?…Up to news time he has not been detained, but police say he is known to them.
