Brawl at Club Enterprise leaves one dead

Story PictureThere are two other murder cases to report, and from San Pedro we turn to Belize City where a shooting at a nightclub early this morning resulted in the death of a Belize City man. The incident occurred at Club Enterprise, formerly known as Q-Club, on Caesar Ridge Road. A gunshot went off near the bathroom at the back of the club and after checking out the area, the caretaker found a bleeding man lying by the steps of the building. He was identified as thirty-six year old Dembert Jones, of Mahogany Street. Jones, who was believed to be in the company of friends, also sustained a large chop wound to the left side of his neck and stab wounds to the right shoulder and back. He was transported to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital where he died at about one-twenty-five this morning.

Meanwhile, a Belize City man who was shot in December has succumbed to his wounds. Twenty-nine year old Griffith Green Junior died during surgery at nine a.m. on Saturday. On December twenty-eighth 2008, Green received a gunshot wound to his back when a gunman fired at him as he was riding his bicycle on Raccoon Street Extension. Twenty-seven year old Roger Wagner Junior of Junesville in Belize City was charged with Attempted Murder, Use of Deadly Means of Harm, Dangerous Harm and Aggravated Assault. Wagner was remanded into custody until February seventeenth. It is not confirmed yet if the charges against Wagner will be upgraded to Murder.
