ComPol: “I Never Met Mr. Borja,” Who Held Several Gun Licenses
On Wednesday, the Commissioner was taken to task once again during a media interview over alleged conversations he had with slain businessman Ricardo Borja, who held licenses for several firearms. Borja was shot and killed back in August, moments after driving into the yard of an apartment on Coney Drive. The presumption is that his murder was a hit because he was in the process of revealing the details of a sophisticated land fraud scheme. In September, Williams explained on Open Your Eyes morning show that at the time, Borja had two gun licenses – one for a rifle and another for a nine millimeter pistol. He said that over a period of time, Borja was given approval for nine other gun licenses, and was a gun enthusiast who had formed a rifle club. Williams explained that whenever Borja applied for a new gun license, he would have to sell the other firearms in his possession, which he reportedly did. On Wednesday when Williams was asked again about Borja’s licenses and the conversations they had over those licenses, this was how he responded.
Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police
“For your knowledge, I have never met Mr. Borja in person. I don’t know who he is.”

“Even though he got ten gun licenses, nine?”
Chester Williams
“Hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on. You see, you constantly listen to those wannabe commissioners in the department who consistently feed you with a bunch of nonsense. And you take this rubbish that you have been fed and digest them. It is not doing you well. I believe that I have addressed the issue as effectively as I could have and I have no more discussion about it. The man is dead. He’s not here to defend himself. I have never, ever, ever charged anybody who comes to me for any assistance for any gun license. And if you don’t believe me, you can – there are many of them that I can tell you – you can go and you can interview them. And they will tell you, when they ask me if there’s a charge, I tell them there’s no charge. When you do something for somebody as a part of your job, as a service, it must be with no cost. And that’s how I operate.”
