Culture Minister Reviews September Celebrations 2023

As you’d know, Fonseca is also the Minister of Culture and chair of the Belize National Celebrations Commission. With the September festivities behind us, we took the opportunity this morning to ask him for a review of the events.

“All the feedback we’ve gotten from everyone, from all the stakeholders has been very positive. I think, as everyone knows, we’ve already said that we have to take a more critical look at the carnival. Obviously, we had some challenges there, so we’ll have to do that. We’ll have to review that. But overall, I think we got great passing marks from the public. Everybody felt, I think, a sense of energy and upliftment and pride in Belize during the month of September. So I think it was a great September celebrations for the country.”
