Family Believes Missing Teen is Dead
It has been over a week since seventeen-year-old Malachi Hamilton went missing from his Lake Independence neighborhood and his family believes that he has been murdered. According to the young man’s aunt, Natalie Hamilton, he spoke to her briefly last Monday before leaving home. The Hamilton family is concerned because this is the first time that the teen has gone missing and his aunt told us a short while ago that he had been receiving threats. But while the Hamilton family believes that their loved one was murdered for his affiliation to a street gang, the police spokesperson said they had no information on Hamilton’s status.
A.C.P. Hilberto Romero, Regional Commander, Eastern Division
“Information was received that Malachi Hamilton was last seen on the 3rd of October 2023 somewhere in Belize City. And since then, he has not been seen or heard from. We are currently conducting an investigation into this missing person report.”

“Is there any reason to, well obviously, is there any reason to suspect that he received anything to suspect foul play?”
A.C.P. Hilberto Romero
“We are following several leads, but at this time, no, we have not received any reports that he got any threats or anything like that. Again, we have information that we are following up on. We are doing some searches, we are doing some interviews, and making checks at various areas, but so far, he has not communicated with anyone.”

“Is he known to be associated with any gang?”
A.C.P. Hilberto Romero
“Uh, not that we know of, no.”
Natalie Hamilton, Aunt of Malachi Hamilton
“He came here and he went to see my niece, Aliyah, but she wasn’t here and when he passed back out, he hailed me. He said, afternoon Auntie, and I said, yeah, Mala. Then he also hailed my father, who is his grandfather, and then he came out of the yard. I didn’t see which direction he went.”
Marion Ali
“Okay, so he walked out, rode out, drove out?”
Natalie Hamilton
“Walked out. He walked out.”
Marion Ali
“He didn’t say he was going with any friend, girlfriend, anybody, no trips anywhere?”
Natalie Hamilton
“Nothing like that he said. And I also got information that he was seen later on that day around two at the neighbor’s yard, who usually work for he was seen there. So I guess he went there to do his little work that he usually does.”
Marion Ali
“And then he left from there?”
Natalie Hamilton
“I didn’t get to speak to the neighbor or anything. She didn’t tell me if he left on there, if he told her that he’s going somewhere or anything like that. So I have none of that information.”
Marion Ali
“Has he ever gone for days and then came back? Maybe went with friends or visited somebody in another, another district?”
Natalie Hamilton
“Nothing like that, that is what has the family is concerned. He is not someone to do something like that. And especially that we have social media and everybody’s seen his pictures posted up. He would have already reached out to someone and said, “Guys, I’m okay, but I’m not here” or something like that. But he did nothing of the sort like that.”
Marion Ali
“Was anybody troubling him, threatening him?”
Natalie Hamilton
“Yes, ma’am. He was being threatened. His life was in danger. There are several people who wanted to hurt him. Why? Gang affiliated, I will not come on the media and put my little nephew as somebody perfect. He didn’t kill anyone or anything like that, but this gang affiliation, this black thing, is very troubling in the society today.”
Marion Ali
“And so you feel somebody has harmed him? The family feels so?”
Natalie Hamilton
“Honestly, I’m a hundred percent sure that my nephew is dead. It’s just a matter of time, um, in finding his body. I’m appealing to the public. If anyone knows where his body is, just tell us where your body is.”
