Police Approves U.D.P. Protest on Friday
The United Democratic Party will be protesting in front of the National Assembly Building on Friday. Leader of the Opposition, Moses “Shyne” Barrow made the announcement last week. According to Barrow, the party will be protesting the manner in which the Social Security Board is managing S.S.B. funds. We asked ComPol Williams about security preparations for the protest.
Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police
“They have applied for permission to protest at the National Assembly on Friday. I have given instructions to approve the request. And as a department, as we will normally do, yes we are preparing for that. I don’t anticipate that they are going to cause any issues with the police. I anticipate it is going to be peaceful and we are going to work with them as we normally do.”
