PM Briceño Visits Sarstoon F.O.B.
Prime Minister John Briceño has been on a tour of the Toledo District since Wednesday. This morning he was in Barranco Village. On his visit to the village he took a trip to the Sarstoon Forward Operating Base. We caught up with PM Briceño at an event in Indian Creek this evening where he told us about his visit.
Prime Minister John Briceño
“I think what is more important to point out is because I was in Barranco. I visited the village of Barranco, the school, to the village council to the village leaders to hear out what is their concerns and challenges and how we can help. We had a very good meeting. It is only when I was about to leave the coast guards were taking me back to Punta Gorda and on the boat they said listen the FOB is give then minutes. I said sure let me go take a look cause you know that we are talking about building a new building. I wanted to take a firsthand look at what was going on. I was there when we were in opposition. I went there and spoke with members of the BDF to see how best we could put a building very soon. But most importantly and I have to discuss this with the minister of defense, Minister Marin. They were making the point that they don’t have electricity, if we could put up a small solar plant. Basically that is what I went today to take a look and see what we can do very quickly to improve the lives of our soldiers.”
