House Meetings to be Held Elsewhere While Renovations Are Underway
Escalante says the work will take roughly nine months to complete, from around the first or second week of December until the end of September of next year. And because the work will involve some degree of demolition, Escalante says another venue will have to be identified where House meetings will take place during the nine-month period.

“It’s quite a bit of work and it also entails some aspects of demolition. So what we are currently doing is we’re working closely with personnel from the National Assembly to identify an alternative venue so that host meetings can be held as well as to provide temporary office spaces for personnel from the National Assembly. Once we iron out the temporary venue for the for house meetings and office spaces for personnel, we move straight into the procurement phase to engage a contractor to undertake the works and then we get straight into execution of the project.”
