Nembhard Does Not Accept Caliz’s Apology; Criticizes Police
But while Bradley says Caliz has been subjected to unfair treatment because of an oppressive law, and that she has been under undue stress, court reporter, Anita Nembhard is not accepting the apology and wants to see Caliz charged. She said Caliz should have thought about her family and the consequences before she committed the offence. And as for the police, who have still not followed up on her report against Caliz, Nembhard criticized them.
Anita Nembhard, Court Reporter
“I will not accept an apology at this moment from Epifania Caliz because first, that’s not a genuine apology, first of all. She saw me out here a few minutes ago, right, and her action does not justify it.”
Marion Ali
“What was her reaction today?”
Anita Nembhard
“Well, today she seemed more afraid to approach me, but I am not the problem, right? She should have thought twice before doing what she did because she knew also that she had a case before the court. She has a child or she has children. Why are you going to think about that now after what you did? And the other thing is too, that I was hoping the police department would look into: I told the officer on that day when that thing happened, I had a video footage. Up to when I made my report, the police officer never once said okay, mek ah get this footage from yoh. He neva even mi want to look pahn the picture that I was showing him to say the color of the clothes that the young lady was wearing, who I’m describing. He was quick to put his own color. I had to correct him in a lot of stuff that I was making in the report. Now today I called to find out what’s the status of my case. Has Epifanio Caliz been called, detained, read her charges?”
