“Society Should Have No Sympathy on Them” – ComPol Williams

And, the death of Amari Rodriquez has been weighing heavily on the Commissioner of Police who says the police will spare no resources to capture the two suspects. ComPol Williams stated that such indiscriminate act of violence will not be countenanced by the department. He noted that police are confident that the murder suspects will be convicted in a court of law once captured.

“We have to examine the callous nature with which they operate. Obviously they have no regards to not even the life of child and when we have people like these, society should have no sympathy on them. No two-year-old should fall victim to gun violence and it doesn’t matter if they would want to say they did not know the child was there. You cannot shoot indiscriminately in a group of people and expect that you might not catch persons other than your intended target. It cannot be. We just have to make sure we work the case as best we can, put forth the best evidence to make sure we secure a conviction and I am sure once we can do that, the High Court is going to do what they should do, putting them away for life.”

“Do you believe the suspects are on the island or they have fled?”

“We believe that they may be somewhere on the island or on some other island in the area. We are doing what we can to find them. We know that Espat has a history of when he is accused of committing these types of crime he would normally flee to the Benque area. As we know he do have relatives in Benque. We are looking for him on land, seas and maybe even in the air. But he must be found.”
