Pollard on Queen’s Square: We’ve Created a Special Bond with Queen’s Square
But while Pollard will run on the P.U.P. ticket as a councilor under Wagner as the mayoral candidate, he also has his eyes on Queen’s Square, hoping he’ll be elected in the General Elections a year later in 2025. Pollard, who is a relative newcomer to politics, came within striking distance of the incumbent Area Representative, Denise “Sista B” Barrow at the polls in 2020. And he feels that he can secure a victory in that division this time around, even though Barrow has had a stronghold in that division for over thirty years as the campaign manager for her brother, former Prime Minister Dean Barrow. One would think that she’d have the same control for her replacement for the U.D.P., Godwin Haylock. But Pollard says he believes he can swing the division from red to blue.
Allan Pollard, Seeking Election in Queen’s Square
“My ambition was always general elections, right? It was always to be in the House, and that is something that we – I haven’t set away from. But of course, again, I have to reiterate, it’s about service. At the end of the day, at any level, I enjoy serving my city. I enjoy serving at the, the City Council. I love it here, but you know, the ultimate goal is to be in the House, come 2025. That’s where we’re focusing our efforts.”

“I believe so. I believe so. From what we’ve seen last election on the work that we have put in, I was obviously newcomer, I’ve had to do that entire introduction to the voters to these families and residents. And no, I think we’ve kind of created a special relationship going forward. And that’s something that gives me a bit of confidence. So for me, it’s not It’s not a matter of who will be the next opponent, but it’s a matter of my organization and my willingness to do double my efforts from what we’ve done last election.”
