Second Suspect Arraigned for La Democracia Robbery
Twenty-five-year-old Evander Usher appeared unrepresented in the magistrate’s court this morning where he was charged in connection with a robbery at a grocery store in La Democracia last weekend. Usher, a maintenance worker employed with the Leadership Intervention Unit, was read a single charge of robbery after it was alleged that he stole two thousand, five hundred dollars in cash and a Samsung cell phone from Angelica Carillo. At his arraignment, Usher pleaded not guilty and told the court that he does not know the other individuals that are accused of committing the robbery along with him. Usher is the second suspect to be charged with the incident. On Monday, twenty-one-year-old Shemar Brakeman, a resident of La Democracia, was also arraigned for that robbery. The duo is due back in court on December twenty-eighth, 2023.
