ComPol on Christian Espat’s Claim of Innocence
Christian Espat and Michael Brown have both been arraigned and remanded to the Belize Central Prison for three counts each of murder, three counts of attempted murder and three counts of use of deadly means of harm. The accused men handed in themselves within days of each other, but before he surrendered in the company of his attorney, Espat posted a recording to social media proclaiming his innocence. Today ComPol Chester Williams reacted to it.

“How do you respond to Christian Espat’s credible alibi claims of being off the island at the time of the triple murder?”
Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police
“Everything is credible to you people; everything. I wonder if you all would have been in the shoes of the deceased or the victims if you would say that his account is credible. And this is one of the problems that we have. You always take the opportunity to give airtime to stupidness and then want to come and interview me about it. I am not going to respond to that, no.”
