New Gun Licenses Board to Be Composed
The amendment to the Firearm Act was passed in the House at the last sitting and is expected to have already been signed into law. So anyone who wants a gun license must wait a bit until the board is constituted. Today, the Minister of Home Affairs told reporters that the board, which will now preside over the decision-making process involving gun licenses, will comprise of several key persons.

“It will on the board a magistrate, a current sitting magistrate, a CEO, and as well a member of the police department from the Dangerous Goods Section, so that is the process. I suspect that the composition should take somewhere between three weeks to a month.”

“Are there considerations for the candidates to fill this post?”

“We haven’t gotten to that point yet, but I’m certain that we’ll be looking for the best qualified individuals to hold these positions.”
