Competency-Based Education Fully Implemented, STEAM Next
On Wednesday, News Five caught up with Minister of State in the Ministry of Education, Doctor Louis Zabaneh as he joined Prime Minister John Briceño on a tour of his constituency, Dangriga. We were able to get an update on the new competency-based curriculum that has been fully implemented. Consultations were done over the past year to get a pulse on the effectiveness of the reformed curriculum. Minister Zabaneh says that he is now focused on expanding STEAM education across the country.

“So we are full implementation of competency-based education across the country. We have our chief education officer leading that effort now. So I have been privileged to work with them and now I am refocusing my efforts on science, technology and innovation. We are also gonna be building out throughout the country STEAM laboratories at high schools across – Ecumenical will be benefiting from that investment. So a lot of exciting things going on, but it’s all about hard work.”
