18-Year-Old Belize City Female Remanded for Firearm and Ammo Offense
On Wednesday we told you about a group of four, two adults and two minors, that was detained by police, after a loaded firearm was found on one of the adults in the group. Three of the four individuals have been released and today eighteen-year-old Jadaey Williams was formally arraigned on a firearm and ammunition offense. Reports are that on Tuesday night, police were conducting patrols in the Cinderella Plaza Area when they received information of a male person in possession of a firearm on Wilson Street. Their attention was drawn to four persons walking along Newtown Barracks. They conducted a search for firearm and ammunition and that is when they allegedly found the firearm and ammunition in a backpack that Williams was carrying. Williams was reportedly asked if she had licenses for the firearm and ammunition and she responded in the negative. The four persons were escorted to the Queen Street Police Station. But today, Williams appeared before the Belize City Magistrates Court alone and unrepresented. She pleaded not guilty to the charge. Williams was denied bail and remanded to the Belize Central Prison until December twenty-ninth.
